About

I'm Stacy, a forty-something mother and doll enthusiast who never outgrew the magic of small worlds and tiny faces.

My love affair with dolls began in childhood, when I'd spend hours lost in elaborate storylines starring my Barbies—complete with a foldable dollhouse, Skipper's t-shirt shop, beach sets, and enough accessories to fuel a miniature soap opera. As I grew older, my collection was carefully tucked away while I explored other creative outlets like The Sims and navigated the responsibilities of adulthood. But Barbie never really left my heart.

When the new Barbie movie reignited that old flame, I bought a few dolls for nostalgia's sake. Then I stumbled upon a 2016 Barbie Dream House at a thrift shop, and suddenly my bedroom transformed into Barbieland. Two large bookshelves and an entire wall now house Starlight Shores—my thriving doll community of over 100 Barbies, each with their own personality and backstory.

But my passion doesn't stop at fashion dolls. I'm an avid collector of reborn dolls (35 authentic reborns, each a breathtaking work of art), Ashton Drake dolls (30), Paradise Galleries dolls (17), plus ball joint dolls and American Girl/Our Generation dolls. Yes, there will be posts about all the various dolls in my life that make bring me joy!

Here's the thing: I'm a player, not a reviewer. I couldn't tell you the official name of most of my Barbie sculpts, and I don't keep anything in boxes. I believe dolls are meant to be enjoyed—played with, photographed, dressed up, and brought to life through storytelling.

I spend my time creating detailed dioramas, sewing doll clothes, building miniature furniture, staging charming scenes, and photographing my dolls living their best tiny lives. I also design free 1:6 scale printables that you're welcome to download and use in your own doll projects (they can be incorporated into items you sell, but can't be sold as-is for commercial use).

This blog is my love letter to the quiet magic of doll collecting—where dust motes dance like fairy godmothers and every corner holds a story. Whether you're here for the Barbies, the reborns, the DIY tutorials, or the free printables, I'm glad you found your way to this little corner of the internet.

Welcome to The Doll Collective, where dreams wear cotton dresses and love comes in very small packages.
